Passing on a Legacy (Doc)

Shikyo arrived in the Human townhouse area, searching for a particular address. It had been scrawled on a piece of paper that was clutched in the hands of a fallen warrior from the war. He found the address and knocked on the door, hoping that the man he was looking for still lived at this address.

Just before heading out I hear a knock at my door, I pick up my coffee while walking over to the door.
Upon opening the door I see this man who may of been looking for me..."Hello....um...is there something you need?" I say then taking a drink.

"My name is Shikyo. I am looking for one named Draedoc. Does he still live at this address?"

I look at the man named Shikyo "I'm Dredoc....whats your business here?"

Shikyo smiled, he was overjoyed that the first human he encountered here was in fact the person he was looking for. "As I'm sure you know, Quindaro died in the conquest of Gallia. Upon his death, he reached for a note asking that I seek you out and give you this." Shikyo pulled out the small book that he had been keeping in his breast pocket since that day and handed it to Draedoc. "I have not looked inside myself, out of respect, though, I am curious as to why it was so important."

I looked at him wearily and take the Journal I look on inside of the cover "yea this is Quin's alright...he carried this with him during high school through hunter training" I suppress my need to punch something due to my theory being correct about Quin's death. "The importance of this is he said if anything happened he wanted this to be proof that he existed..." I slide my hand on the cover and felt the wear and tear and years of character the book built.

[note: The Journal is fairly big about twice the size of a Webster dictionary]

Shikyo gave him an inquisitive look. "You went through Hunter training with him? I thought that was a vampiric affair."

I then look up as if snapping out of a trance "Oh sorry was kinda reminiscing the past..." I put the book down on the table and grab my coffee and take a long drink then I fix my eyes back on shikyo. "I took the human courses of hunter training..." I suppress the fact it was sponsored by the SCD (Special Cases Division) "...So no It's not only a vampire thing"

"Fascinating. There is so much I do not know about the other races. Perhaps...." Shikyo trailed off as though he were talking to himself. He shrugs and continues the thought, "Would you care to join me? I am gathering members from each race to form a sort of Secret Police Force and I think you could be a great help in this regard."

I squint for a moment and put my hand on my chin as if a question was burning inside me "Before I even consider this...I have to ask you a question I'm dying to know...Who /or what killed Quin?" I say this not making any movement, Just staring him in the eyes. Studying him.

"The man known as the Enigma, Echo."

I put my arms down at my side into my pockets "Ah I see....I need to think on your offer...where can I find you if I want to?"

"I spend most of my time in the Capitol. You can find me there."

I made a mental note and I pulled my hand out of my pocket and gave him a big smile "Thank you for every thing Mr. Shikyo" I said while extending my hand to shake his

"Of course." Shikyo reached out and shook his hand, "It's King, by the way."

I nod "Excuse me...King" I picked up my coffee and drink the rest, I pickup the book "Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to see what he needed me to know..."

"It's not that big a deal. I'll leave you to it then." Shikyo leaves the man in peace.

I nod as I watch the king take his leave. I take Quin's book into the back room to read

a note slips out:
"Dear Doc if your reading this I'm probably dead or lost this book... anyhow I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry I couldn't have that last drink I promised you... Your Dear Friend: Quindaro"
